SUSPECTED COCAINE SEIZED FROM HIGHWAY 17 TRAFFIC STOP

(ESPANOLA, ON) – A driver is facing charges after police received a traffic complaint.

On Sunday, September 28, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint reporting a truck swerving within its lane on Highway 17 in McKerrow. Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. As a result of further investigation, police found the driver to be a suspended driver, and an arrest was made.

Additionally, police seized an amount of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of $5,250.

The driver, Adriano PAOLETTI, 41-years-old from Sudbury, was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Driving while under suspension

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on November 17, 2025.
