By Rosalind Russell – Now is the time to nominate a community champion for a provincial award.
All municipalities can nominate a caring, community-oriented person over 65 for Ontario’s Senior of the Year Award, but it must be submitted before the end of April.
The province decides who gets the award during Seniors’ Month in June.
According to provincial officials, the award was created in 1994 to recognize outstanding seniors who support the betterment of their communities.
