Trailer bylaw still up in the air

By Rosalind Russell – A large contingent of residents showed up last week to listen to Sables-Spanish Rivers township council’s reasoning behind a proposed trailer bylaw that could mean a $700 permit fee for owners.

Mayor Kevin Burke says the bylaw is a necessary step to regulate trailer usage and ensure they are meeting all regulations, especially the disposal of gray water and waste.

Council put off final reading of the bylaw because they want to discuss some amendments including the permit fee and to gain input from hunters and fishermen.

The matter is expected to be back on the table for further discussion by the end of the month.
