By Rosalind Russell – Espanola/Sables Spanish Regional Fire Chief Jamie Ramsay and Deputy Chief Brandon Courtemanche have hit the ground running with the joining of the Espanola and Sables-Spanish Rivers fire departments.
Both attended yesterday’s Career/Job Fair at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex talking to the general public about volunteering and the various services they offer.
Courtemanche says they actively seeking more volunteer firefighters in both municipalities but there is a bigger need in Sables-Spanish Rivers.
Ramsay adds they offer all the training and equipment for individuals who are over the age of 18 and Canadian citizens to sign up and see if their interest lies in firefighting.
As mutual aid, they also offer services if called in to Baldwin and Nairn & Hyman townships.
