Walk for Overdose Awareness Day planned in Espanola

By Rosalind Russell – The Second Annual Walk for Overdose Awareness Day is set for Espanola.

Mental Health Navigator with the Espanola Family Health Team, Ashley Lindsay, says the walk will be held on August 31st, to raise awareness about overdose, its effect on individuals and the community at large, and how community members can assist those in need.

The walk will start out from the Town hall at noon and make its way to the Noojmowin Teg Centre at the intersection of Second Avenue and Highway Six.

She adds the public is encouraged to wear purple in support of the event.

Everyone is invited to attend.

Lindsay says more information is available on the Espanola and Area Overdose Epidemic Facebook page.
