By Rosalind Russell – The Board of Directors and staff of Furever Homes and Lodging – Society for Animals in Distress in Elliot Lake says renovations are continuing at their new location, but outdoor canine yards need to be constructed.
According to the release, the renovations are continuing at the new 37 Timber Road location, but since it has less space than their previous facility, they need funds to complete the outdoor facilities and other amenities.
The board is also looking for two small trailers for individual canine and feline isolation quarters where new surrenders must complete a mandated 10-day isolation period, so if anyone can help, it is much appreciated.
The group is currently hosting raising funds through the Adopt-A-Kennel program, a GoFundMe, and second-hand store staffed with volunteers.
A soft opening for limited daycare and potential boarding is tentatively set for mid-April.
An open house and barbecue are also in the works as part of a membership drive in support of the facility.
