Espanola Lions Club annual Teddy Bear Toss set

By Rosalind Russell – Every year, the Espanola Lions Club collects teddy bears and stuffed characters as part of their annual Christmas Toy Drive and in memory of Agnes Michon, known affectionately as Mrs. Clause.

For decades Michon bought, repaired, and wrapped thousands of toys for the Lion’s annual toy drive.

The toys will be distributed to children and families across the North Shore Corridor on December 20th in partnership with the Espanola Elks Hamper Radiothon.

This year, the Teddy Bear Toss will kick off the annual campaign as part of the Rockin’ Around the Oval Standing Parade set for Espanola this Saturday, November 22nd.

The public is asked to bring their donations to the Oval at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex from six pm to eight pm.

Following the official toss, any donations can be dropped off at the main foyer at the Espanola Royal Canadian Legion.
