
By Rosalind Russell – Starting this fall eligible Ontario households will be able to receive rebates of up to $200 off a wide range of energy-efficient appliances.
Officials say it falls under the Home Renovations Savings Program – and appliances like refrigerators, freezers and laundry machines purchased from any retailer will be eligible for the rebate if it meets the criteria.
It’s all part of the provinces plan to keep energy costs down as demand for the energy is projected to increase. Under the program – rebates for attic insulation will also be available along with savings on various efficiency upgrades like smart thermostats or rooftop solar panels.
