HSN awarded national recognition for healthy workplace

By Rosalind Russell – Health Science North is being recognized on the national front for their workplace culture.

The Sudbury-based hospital network has received the Excellence Canada Healthy

Workplace Silver Award, a national recognition that affirms the facility’s commitment to creating a healthy, supportive, and inclusive workplace culture.

Jessica Diplock, the Vice President of People and Culture at HSN, says the certification process allows the facility to establish a clear baseline to understand what they are doing well to support employee health and wellness, and where they can continue to evolve.

She adds while they celebrate silver, their aspirations are to continue the journey pursuing Gold-level certification and ultimately striving toward the highest standards of organizational excellence.

Through certification and recognition, Excellence Canada recognizes organizations that are  innovative, customer-focused, competitive, financially and environmentally sustainable, and are strong corporate citizens.

She adds HSN was also officially accredited through the Imagine Canada Standards Program, the gold standard for excellence and accountability in Canada’s charitable sector earlier this month.

This extraordinary accomplishment places the HSN Foundation among a select group of charities recognized for excellence in governance, financial accountability, fundraising ethics, staff management, and volunteer engagement.
