By Rosalind Russell – Flood warnings remain in place across the three districts of Algoma, Manitoulin and Sudbury.
In Espanola, water has now overtopped Panache Lake Rd. at Black Creek Bridge.
The road is now closed due to flooding and dangerous conditions.
The Spanish River has been rising an average of four to five inches per day over the last few days and parents are warned to keep their children away from any waterways, since some of the dams are now being gradually opened to allow runoff of the snow melt.
Municipalities continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as they become available.
Emergency services have also been notified.
Flooding is expected to continue due to high flows coming from the Northern watershed.
Check with your local municipalities or First Nation band offices official sites online or by calling them during regular business hours for road closures and emergency procedures.
