By Rosalind Russell – St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Elliot Lake is celebrating a major milestone after receiving Accreditation with Commendation from Accreditation Canada.
President and CEO Kelli-Ann Lemieux says the accreditation reflects the dedication of the people who make up the organization
She says the result follows the onsite evaluation that took place from September 8 to 11 and applies to: St. Joseph’s General Hospital, St. Joseph’s Manor, and the Oaks Centre, adding this marks the first time in the organization’s history that all sites have been recognized at this level.
Lemieux says that process is very intense involving an extensive review of 18 sections and more than 2,500 standards covering quality, safety, leadership, governance and patient care.
She also extended congratulatory messages and thanks to the staff who played such a crucial role in achieving the milestone.
