By Rosalind Russell – The Anishinabe Spiritual Centre, located five minutes south of Espanola on Lake Anderson, has received funding from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation through its Indigenous Workforce Development Stream to hire a cultural planning intern.
The centre is seeking an intern for a two-year placement and will be responsible for planning cultural programs and community events, creating social media and promotional content, welcoming visitors, conducting research, and supporting the centre’s daily operations.
The centre recently released a new logo, and its board of directors is taking a more business-like approach to promoting the property to the wider community, including the opening of a small café, community gatherings and more.
The intern must self-identify as First Nation, Métis or Inuit, be legally eligible to work in Canada and reside in Northern Ontario during the placement.
Application deadline: September 25, 2026
To apply, email your résumé to: anishinabespiritualcentre@gmail.com
Please share this opportunity with recent graduates and early-career applicants throughout Northern Ontario.
