Anti-quarry advocates hosting information luncheon on proposed quarry

By Rosalind Russell – An advocacy group is hosting a working lunch tomorrow to discuss a proposed quarry in the Algoma Mills area.

North Shore Environmental Resource Advocates (Incorporated) spokesperson Rhonda Kirby says they are hosting the lunch to bring information to the public about the possible negative effects the proposed quarry could have on the environment in the Serpent River watershed.

She emphasizes it is important locals understand the potential long-term effects it could have especially on local species including the endangered Blanding Turtles.

Kirby invites everyone to come out tomorrow from 12 noon to 4 pm at the Mississauga FN Fitness Centre.
