By Rosalind Russell – A class of students at an Elliot Lake school has received accolades from Community Living Algoma as part of their Together We’re Better Contest.
The Grade 7/8 class from Our Lady of Lourdes was awarded the prize earlier this week for their submission, a mixed media presentation on inclusion and acceptance.
The focus was to include various ways people can respectfully include others with disabilities of varying types, into activities and conversations.
Each student received a certificate of recognition, while the school also received its second certificate recognizing their role in promoting and fulfilling an inclusive school environment.
