By Rosalind Russell – Espanola council has given its approval to a resolution in support of the upcoming 75th Espanola High School Anniversary.
The Corporate Services Committee recommended to council that the fees associated with the rental of the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex for the EHS 75th Anniversary celebrations be waived.
The 75th Anniversary Committee is expecting around 200 people to attend the event, and all revenues are collected through registration fees of $40 with any remaining funds earmarked for bursaries for two graduating students that best demonstrate school spirit.
It was pointed out that these bursaries have continued for 15 years. (at a value of $400 for each student awarded).
Council agreed to the request.
The next 75th EHS Anniversary organizational meeting is set for March 30th.
