By Rosalind Russell – The Town of Espanola has its crews on 24-hour rotations for the next couple of days following Sunday’s snow storm.
Town CEO Joseph Burke says crews are out cleaning as many of the roadways as possible before doing a second pass to widen them properly.
He adds there is so much snow, sidewalks likely will not be cleaned until tomorrow because a loader, rather than a sidewalk plow, will be needed with up to five feet of heavy snow blocking the walkways.
Meanwhile, hospitals have cancelled their outpatient appointments but are asking for people to stay home and rebook their appointments for a later date.
Emergency rooms remain open.
Updates will be provided as the cleanup continues.
