By Rosalind Russell – The Elliot Lake Mayor Andrew Wannan was joined by some of his council and city staff to provide a sendoff to one of their Special Olympians, Tyrina Cyr, late last week.
Cyr will be competing in track and field at the Special Olympics Canada Summer Games in Medicine Hat this week.
As part of the sendoff, she was presented with a certificate congratulating her for her hard work, passion, and competitive achievement in qualifying for the games while representing Elliot Lake and Ontario on the national stage.
The Opening Ceremonies are being held today.
