By Rosalind Russell – The Canadian Union of Public Employees says it’s negotiated a new three-year contract with Ontario’s hospitals.
Union officials are recommending their members accept the tentative agreement electronic with ratification votes to be held on Saturday.
It includes general wage increases amounting to 6% over the three years – along with other vacation, dental and mental health benefits.
The union represents about 45-thousand hospital workers across Ontario – including Espanola, Elliot Lake, Blind River and workers on Manitoulin Island.
