
By Rosalind Russell – Jack’s Ski and Bike Shack of Elliot Lake has won a provincial award in recognition of its work and potential in tourism development.
The local business has been named Best Bike Business in the Northern Ontario/Tourism Region at the 7th Annual Bicycle Friendly Business Awards.
According to the release, the business is working to develop the northern Ontario town between Sault Saint Marie and Sudbury as a hub for cycling and tourism.
The family-run shop offers same-day repairs and has assisted many cyclists across the country with repairs to get them rolling again.
The business serves the growing Elliot Lake community with bike and ski service, sales and rentals. Elliot Lake is a major hub on the Deer Trail Touring Route.
