By Rosalind Russell – St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Elliot Lake held the official opening of its newly redeveloped pharmacy earlier this week, a project made possible through donations made to the St. Joseph’s Foundation.
Hospital CEO, President Kelli-Ann Lemieux, says the retrofit cost over $3 million, with $870,000 raised locally.
Officials say the new space allows the pharmacy team to work more efficiently and safely, ultimately improving patient outcomes.
The formal ribbon cutting was held Wednesday afternoon.
She says the new pharmacy is designed to meet modern standards and support best practices in medication management, enhancing the hospital’s ability to deliver patient-centered pharmaceutical care, including oncology treatments.
