Elliot Lake leaders advance local priorities in meetings with provincial government

By Rosalind Russell – Elliot Lake leaders were at Queen’s Park this week to meet with senior members of the provincial government.

Mayor Andrew Wannan and Deputy Mayor Charlie Flintoff travelled to Toronto with staffers to highlight the city’s needs and opportunities, particularly around economic growth, infrastructure, and long-term community development.

Wannan says they appreciated meeting with Ontario Premier Doug Ford adding the conversations are critical to ensuring residents receive the support and attention they deserve.

Deputy Mayor Flintoff adds the city is fortunate to have strong representation through local MPP, Bill Rosenberg.

Over the two-day visit, the delegation met with several elected officials and ministers’ offices, building on ongoing discussions and reinforcing the city’s priorities directly with provincial decision-makers.
