Elliot Lake Lions Club donates to local hospital fundraiser

By Rosalind Russell – The Elliot Lake Lions Club has donated to the local hospital foundation for new equipment for the oncology department.

Members of the club held a fundraiser earlier this week hosting a pig roast fundraiser at St. George’s Restaurant in the city.

They followed that up with a $3,942 donation to the St. Joseph’s General Hospital Elliot Lake Foundation.

The foundation states it has raised just over $23,000 towards its goal of $1 million because the oncology department requires major upgrades to stay certified.

The fundraising continues through the foundation’s monthly 50/50 draws and donations.
