By Rosalind Russell – The Ruben Yli-Juuti Centre in Elliot Lake will be closed for the summer for electrical upgrades, repairs, and maintenance.
According to the release, as part of the 50th Anniversary celebrations, the pool will be open for their free “50 Laps for 50 Years” swim tomorrow evening to celebrate the centre’s milestone.
The celebration will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a few brief speeches and photos, followed by lap swimming until 8:00 p.m.
After that, it will be closed for the summer to allow for the repairs to take place, and all memberships will be automatically paused during the closure period.
The facility is expected to reopen in late August.
