By Rosalind Russell – It is more than just a get together to try some tasty ribs, the Manitoulin Ribfest features award-winning barbecue chefs and is also a major fundraiser for the local Lions Club.
The Central Manitoulin Lions Club is hosting the Ribfest at the Mindemoya Ballfields July 2nd to 5th featuring four of the best chefs in Canada and the United States.
The club is also selling tickets for the Ultimate BBQ Fundraiser, a prize valued at $8,700, donated by Jake’s Home Centre.
All the funds raised will go back to the club, which in turn, will distribute the proceeds to charity projects across Manitoulin Island.
The weekend will also feature a parade, entertainment and fireworks.
