Hospital Bids Farewell to CEO Jane Battistelli After 17 Years of Transformative Leadership
After nearly two decades holding various leadership positions, Jane Battistelli, CEO of our local hospital, is stepping down, marking the end of a remarkable era defined by progress, compassion, and community-centred care. Battistelli has served the hospital with unwavering commitment for 17 years, guiding the institution through periods of growth, innovation, a pandemic, and unforeseen challenges.
Reflecting on Battistelli’s Legacy
During her tenure, Battistelli held positions of the Clinical Manager of the Emergency Department & Acute Care, Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Clinical Services, and her last four and a half years being served as the Chief Executive Officer. During her time at ERHHC she championed patient-centred initiatives, expanded vital services, fostered leadership development, and oversaw significant infrastructure improvements. Her leadership was instrumental in developing a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and collaboration among staff and physicians. She earned the admiration of colleagues and the gratitude of patients, consistently prioritizing the well-being of the community.
Board Chair Karen Lalonde commented, “Jane’s vision and dedication have fundamentally shaped our hospital. Her legacy is one of compassion, innovation, and unwavering support for both staff and patients.”
Welcoming Incoming CEO Martin Lees
The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Martin Lees as the incoming CEO, effective January 1st, 2026. Lees brings a wealth of experience in healthcare management and a reputation for collaborative leadership. His commitment to excellence and forward-thinking approach align seamlessly with the vision and values established under Battistelli’s stewardship.
Lees stated, “I am honoured to join this exceptional team and build upon Jane’s impressive legacy. I look forward to working with staff, partners, and the community to ensure our hospital continues to provide outstanding care.”
