By Rosalind Russell – A firefighter with the Blind River Fire Department is in serious but stable condition following a structural fire.
Fire Chief Ryan Belair says around 4:40 am yesterday morning, the department responded to a fire at 15 and 17 Woodward Avenue in Blind River.
He says one fighter sustained injuries and is now in the hospital, in serious but stable condition.
Belair says four occupants have been displaced and three businesses have been impacted, with significant damage to the building.
He adds that the cause of the fire is unknown at this time, and the investigation continues.
