By Rosalind Russell – The CEO of St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Elliot Lake says the Oaks Centre and Camillus Centre are reopening their visitation policy effective immediately.
Jeremy Stevenson says while they welcome visitors back to both centres, there will be some recommended safety protocols.
He says visitation to the Oaks Centre is recommended to take place outside, except in inclement weather, where dedicated spaces which will be decided by staff while visitors are screened for symptoms at the door.
He adds visitors will be required to perform hand hygiene, always wear a mask, and are encouraged to physically distance themselves during the visit during the daily visitation hour from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a limit of two visitors per patient.
Stevenson says for the Camillus Centre, general visitation will reopen to weekly visitation on Sundays from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., also with a limit of two visitors per patient.
The policy change takes place immediately.
