Honouring veterans in Sables-Spanish Rivers Township

By Rosalind Russell – The Township of Sables-Spanish Rivers is undertaking a project to commemorate and recognize the service of local veterans, both living and deceased, with cultural heritage banners throughout the Township.

According to the release, the streetlight pole banners will feature a photo of veterans along with their units of service, poppies, and flags.

Each veteran’s banner would be displayed on a rotating basis with the hope of eventually displaying memorials for every local veteran should that be their or their family’s wish.

Forms and information packages are available at the Township Office, Massey Legion, Webbwood Eagles and Sagamok Anishnawbek First Nation Band Office.

The deadline is Friday, August 4th.
