
By Rosalind Russell – Hydro One has launched a grant to help communities impacted by the recent ice storm access essential needs as they begin to rebuild.
Officials say Indigenous communities and municipalities can apply for the Ice Storm 2025 Recovery Grant to receive up to $10,000 for restoration costs and essential needs like food, supplies and shelter.
Media Relations Advisor at Hydro One Meghan Collie says so far, they have restored power to more than 96 percent of their customers, but they are still witnessing the devastation the storm left.

She adds there is currently no deadline to apply as they know as communities continue their restoration efforts and needs continue to evolve.
