Kenjgewin Teg Introduces Beverley Roy as President

By Rosalind Russell – Kenjgewin Teg has appointed M’Chigeeng First Nation’s Beverley Roy as its new President.

Board Vice-Chairperson Brian McGregor says Roy’s career spans over 25 years of experience in community work on Manitoulin Island, focusing on education from a First Nation perspective.

He says she is currently nearing the completion of her Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Toronto adding her educational accomplishments include includes a Master of Business Administration degree from Athabasca University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Waterloo.

Roy thanked the board for her appointment adding her next steps as president includes fulfilling Kenjgewin Teg’s strategic plan include planning for the delivery of diplomas, certificates, degrees, and micro-credentials, as well as developing more relationships and partnerships with various organizations to enhance the educational experience for students.
