Kenjgewin Teg named official test site for Canadian Adult Education Credential

By Rosalind Russell – Kenjgewin Teg has been designated as an official test site for the new Canadian Adult Education Credential.

President Beverley Roy says being a test site is the first step in supporting access to expanded learning, and based on actual usage and demand, the institute may consider expanding its role.

She says the credential is designed for adults who have not obtained a high school diploma but require an official credential to demonstrate high school-level knowledge and skills.

She says to be eligible to take the certification, individuals must be residents of Ontario and at least 18 years of age.

To pass the CAEC and earn their equivalency certificate, candidates must achieve a minimum score of 55 percent on each of the five tests.

Those interested in writing the CAEC can register through the TVO Independent Learning Centre website at www.ilc.org/caec

During the registration process, candidates can select Kenjgewin Teg as their preferred test site. Once a request has been received from TVO, a site administrator will contact registrants to schedule their testing session.
