By Rosalind Russell – A renewal project featuring a new exhibition will be mounted at Science North in Sudbury after receiving $650,000 in federal funding from FedNor.
Ashley Larose, the CEO of Science North says the new ‘Woven by Water’ exhibit will involve more than a fifth of the third floor at the regional attraction.
She says the exhibit will offer learning experiences that honour Indigenous knowledge and invite visitors to explore Northern Ontario through a new lens.
Larose explains the project will include a multi-level play structure and a series of exhibits exploring water cycles, with a focus on Indigenous learning.
She adds visitors will explore how water ecosystems have shaped land, species, and people in Northern Ontario and understand how to become stewards of water systems.
Work on the new exhibit will be carried out in 2026 with a grand opening in the works.
