By Rosalind Russell – A major highway reconstruction project is now underway in Espanola.
Highway Six, from Station Road north to the Tudhope Street intersection will undergo reconstruction this summer including new roadway, sidewalks, water and sewer lines.
Special Projects Manager Joel Yusko says in February the town received five tenders for the work to rebuild the main byway from Station Road to Tudhope Street.
He says the winning bidder is Green Infrastructure Partners Limited at just over $6.0 million dollars.
The work is expected to be completed by early fall.
This phase of construction will complete the work along the entire length of Highway Six within the town proper, which began some five years ago.
