Mummy Dogs

Recipe

This is the Halloween version of “Pigs In A Blanket” which is always a crowd favourite. I made these one year for a Halloween party that my kids were hosting, and they were disappearing before I could line them up on the platter. These not only make a great Halloween appetizer, they are also a fun and easy supper for the kids before they hit the streets to go trick-or-treating.

Mummy Dogs

• 1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury refrigerated crescent rolls
• 1 package of wieners / veggie dogs
• Kraft Singles cheese
• Cooking spray
• Mustard or ketchup

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Unroll dough; separate at perforations, creating 4 rectangles. Press perforations to seal. With knife or kitchen scissors, cut each rectangle lengthwise into 10 pieces, making a total of 40 pieces of dough. Slice cheese slices into quarters (1/2 slice cheese, cut in half) Wrap 4 pieces of dough around each wiener and 1 piece of cheese to look like “bandages”, stretching dough slightly to completely cover the wiener. About 1/2 inch from one end of each wiener, separate “bandages” so the wiener shows through for the “face”. On an ungreased large cookie sheet, place wrapped wiener with cheese side down; spray dough lightly with cooking spray. Bake 13- 17 minutes or until dough is light golden brown and wieners are hot. With mustard, draw features on the “face”.
