By Aidan Kallioinen – Espanola CAO Joseph Burke recently hosted the first of four sessions designed for those interested in running for the upcoming 2026 Municipal Elections. Burke’s session focused on the roles and responsibilities of local governments, the duties of elected officials, and what potential candidates might expect as part of the role. The next three sessions are at 6:00 pm on May 28, June 11, and June 29, at the Espanola Public Library. Ontario’s municipal election is scheduled for October 26.
