By Rosalind Russell – Life is a highway for the NDP over the next little while.
They’re taking a northern road trip along Highways 11 and 17 — highlighting dangers, documenting concerns and pushing the government to act before more lives are lost.
Timiskaming-Cochrane MPP John Vanthof says they’re taking Highway 11 to the Manitoba border, then returning on Highway 17 to show what driving the two roads are really like and why they need to be modernized and expanded.
Vanthof also says the road to the Ring of Fire comes out on the worst stretch of the highway, and if the province and feds are serious about protecting the country with national-building projects, this is one to consider.
