New Vitals Machine Now in Use at the Richards Landing–Matthews Site

By Rosalind Russell – The North Shore Health Network has been able to introduce a new piece of vital equipment at its Richards Landing–Matthews Site

According to the release, the Emergency Department has a new Root Masimo Vitals Machine, an advanced medical monitor, valued at $8,300, provides continuous, non-invasive monitoring of blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature, and oxygen saturation.

It also features cutting-edge technology to detect carbon monoxide exposure and measure overall hemoglobin levels simultaneously; a patented innovation by Masimo Canada.

The Richards Landing Auxiliary Site Committee, contributed $4,800 to the project, and combined with Foundation donor funds, ensured this essential piece of equipment could be purchased and put into service.

There next goal is a new ECG Central Monitoring System valued at $91,000 allowing for faster, more accurate patient assessments.
