Nine-year-old hosts food drive for Espanola food bank

By Rosalind Russell – A nine-year-old spent the month of March collecting food items for the Espanola food bank.

Aivah St Amour hosted the food drive for March, calling her campaign Hopping for Hunger.

With the help of family and friends she collected 675 items, and they also helped her deliver those goods to the Espanola Helping Hand Food Bank earlier this week.

Food bank volunteer Alta Campbell says it just proves that you are never too young to make a difference.

She adds that Aivah was presented with an Easter basket full of goodies and a Certificate of Appreciation for her hard work.
