By Rosalind Russell – Ontario’s top 16-year-old U16 female skier, Ava Currie, hails from Walford and the Massey area, trains in Elliot Lake and goes to school in Espanola, but it’s the slopes where she wants to be.
Currie has had an astounding year winning all the preliminaries to open the door to the Whistler Cup, which is underway in Whistler, B.C.
The Whistler Cup is one of the most prestigious international youth events in the world with over 500 top youth skiers from around the globe taking part.
