By Rosalind Russell – The City of Elliot Lake has installed 16 video cameras in the downtown core.
City EDO Steve Antunes says the cameras were installed to improve public safety and security and can be accessed by local law enforcement upon request.
He says the policy has been developed by the city as to how the CCV’s and their data will be utilized.
Antunes says an open house is being held on (Thursday) March 19th at 6 pm in council chambers to explain the policy.
He adds the new cameras came on line in mid-February.
