By Grant Lewis – The Espanola Lions club is thrilled to support the Espanola Pond Hockey program for kids of all ages. Making hockey accessible and affordable for kids starting out in hockey is worthy of our help. And we have…for over three years! This year’s donation is for $2,500 to help with the cost of renting the ice. Ages for the program range from 4 years old to 14. The season starts in October and ends with a wind-up banquet in March. Hockey skills and sportsmanship and fun go hand in hand with 1/2 hour skills training and 1/2 game time. Of course none of this is possible without the time, effort and dedication of many volunteers and willing parents. Hats off to the 38 children involved and have a fun season!!
