By Rosalind Russell – Espanola’s Pride Cross Walk has been completed in time for the town’s inaugural Pride Weekend.
Town clerk Joseph Burke says the walk was painted on Wednesday evening and is located at the entrance to the complex parking lot next to the high school and across from the old AB Ellis property.
The town agreed to paint the cross walk to advocate for inclusivity in Espanola.
Espanola Pride will kick off their events tomorrow evening with an outdoor movie at the Oval adjacent to the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex followed by a full day of activities for local families at the same location throughout the day on Saturday.
The events will be capped off with an adult comedy night and drag queen show at the Espanola Legion.
