Public Health Sudbury & Districts checking vaccination records

By Rosalind Russell -Public Health Sudbury & Districts is reminding parents and guardians to update and report their child’s vaccine records.

Sara Noble with the Vaccine Preventable Diseases team says to attend school in Ontario, students under 18 must have received all required or have valid exemption from vaccination.

She says starting this month, the agency will begin reviewing all student vaccine records for the 2025-2026 school year, as required under the Immunization of School Pupils Act (ISPA) and families will be notified if their child is missing vaccinations.

Noble says approximately 3,800 students across the Sudbury and Manitoulin service area have missing or overdue vaccines according to the provincial immunization database, adding parents and guardians are urged to check their child’s vaccination records and receive the required immunizations as soon as possible.
