By Rosalind Russell – Elliot Lake council has given its approval for road closures to set up for the 2025 Annual Heritage Days Street Dance set for Friday, June 27th.
This week, council approved a staff recommendation to close the upper plaza parking lot, in phases, and a section of Ontario Avenue to allow for staging and other equipment for the street dance.
Director of Recreation and Culture, Karilyn Kluke, recommended the temporary closure to accommodate the hundreds expected to attend the popular event.
Kluke adds notices will go out to all local businesses with partial road closures beginning Thursday, June 26th and reopened once again on the Saturday.
