By Rosalind Russell – A special meeting was held by Espanola council earlier this month featuring a workshop with the Town’s consultants on the development of a new Strategic Plan.
Bill Winegard of Winegard Consulting and David King of Municipal Advisory Services made the presentation.
Winegard says the initial report outlines challenges and priorities and what council can and cannot do regarding identifying and then strategizing on how to meet the goals outlined by the community at large.
He identified some of those priorities including housing, recreational opportunities, continued upgrading of hard services such as water, sewer and roads, and green alternatives.
Winegard adds they will have a report ready by June for public review.
