Special Olympics meet well attended by the North Shore and Manitoulin IslandBy Rosalind Russell – Special Olympics athletes from across the region came to North Bay this weekend.  

The annual Jack Lyons Special Olympics Regional Track and Field Meet took place Saturday at St. Joseph-Scollard Hall’s Cundari Field. 

Members of the Manitoulin Olympics and individuals involved with Community Living programs across the North Shore corridor also took part including a couple from Espanola and Elliot Lake.

The competition also provided adapted sports, such as the softball thrown along with the contemporary track and field.
