By Rosalind Russell – St. Joseph’s General Hospital Elliot Lake is introducing its new board to the wider community.
According to the release, Carl White is board chair and William Elliott, vice-chair with both appointments were approved by the Catholic Health Sponsors of Ontario (CHSO) in late summer.
White says the hospital also welcomes five new members to its board of trustees: Carmen Mroz, Matthew Curtis, Steve Meawasige, Andrew Ault, and Bishop Thomas Dowd.
White adds he is honoured to serve as board chair alongside the newly appointed vice-chair and five new board members adding it is an exciting time for the organization as they strengthen relationships, welcome fresh perspectives and build on the work that has brought them to this point in time.
He says trustees play a vital role in shaping the future of health care by providing leadership, oversight and accountability and all members welcome public input to assist them in their future decisions.
