By Rosalind Russell – Local area food banks have received some much-needed support from their respective communities.
Earlier this week, the Elliot Lake Royal Canadian Legion Branch 561 donated $2,000 from their bingo proceeds to The Elliot Lake Food Bank.
The Espanola Helping Hand Food Bank also received $300 from Robinson’s Pharmasave yesterday.
And firefighters in the LaCloche Foothills member communities also held successful food drives last night through their respective Fill the Truck campaigns to assist food banks in Espanola, Massey, and Nairn.
