By Rosalind Russell – Three people have been arrested and multiple stolen electronics recovered following two search warrants by the Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service on Wednesday.
Police chief Ron Gignac says the warrants were part of an ongoing investigation into a series of break and enters at the Junior School in Wiikwemkoong which occurred in recent weeks, resulting in the theft of several computers and disrupted school operations.
He says officers recovered several stolen computers linked to the school incidents and police arrested a 42-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man.
Gignac adds the second warrant executed led to the arrest of a 32-year-old man believed to be connected to both break-ins.
He says a variety of charges were laid including breach, resisting arrest, possession of stolen property, break and enter, mischief and theft.
