By Rosalind Russell – By Rosalind Russell – Espanola High School’s EcoSchools Green Team has launched the LaCloche Tree Planting Relay, challenging all local municipalities to commit to planting 50 trees. Officials say it’s for wildlife habitat, green neighborhoods, combating climate change, and more.
According to the release, thanks to Interfor, which donated 700 red line and jack pine seedlings to the cause, all municipalities and First Nations have taken the baton and are running the relay.
The trees will be planted in all local area municipalities and First Nations as part of a national sustainability program.
